need advice on a psu

im building a new system for my gf cuz she badly needs an update. im gonna go with a core2duo processor with an intel board, a sata hard drive with about a gb of ddr2 ram and a decent graphics card prolly a geforce 8600gt no sli or nething and a dvd burner most likely... i just need some suggestions about wattage and brand really. ive looked over a lot of the posts about psus but im still kinda worried about not choosing a decent one that will end up frying her system if it messes up... ive also tried some of the wattage calculators but have gotten very different results from each one... heres what i was checking out at newegg for the build:

http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16822136037

i built a similar system with advice from some people on here but i didnt have a vid card like this and someone suggested a 400w xclio so im pretty sure itll be around the same thing but like i said from what ive read a psu can make or break ur system and i dont want to build this thing just to have it blow up.... thanks in advance guys

A good quality 450 watt PSU will power all that easily.

Don't get Kingston RAM though, they've been having quality control problems and a lot of their RAM is being returned for RMA. Get Corsair or Crucial instead.

I'll let a more knowledgeable person answer that one.

XClio power supplies are okay to use. I prefer to use Fortron Source or Sparkle Power PSUs.

Kingston RAM started showing problems are few years ago. Not every stick of RAM will be bad, just a higher percentage of stick go bad. Personally I've seen about 10 sticks of Kingston go bad since 2002. I haven't seen a stick of Corsair go bad yet and I've been using that brand since 2002 or 2003.
