new build. suggestions?

i made a list of everything for a new computer, but was looking for any recommendations on cheaper parts that perform at about the same level or parts i should spend a little more on. trying to spend as little as possible but dont want to cut any corners and another $100 or so wouldnt be a problem. thanks.

i plan on getting a better graphics card later, but for now a 7600gt will work fine for older games. the reason for the big power supply is so i dont have to buy i new one down the road for the better graphics card. thanks for any suggestions.

Case- Fine

Power Supply- Great

Hard Drive- Great

Processor- Go with the E6750. Its newer and faster, but actually cheaper.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115029

Motherboard- I would go from something from the Asus P5K line. That board supports crossfire, but neither crossfire or SLi are really worth it, since by the time you go to buy the 2nd card, a new generation is out and one new generation card always beats two old generation cards.

Optical- Great

RAM- I would go with Corsair, but if it works it works.

Video Card- Good

OS- Good

If your not overclocking, Corsair Value Select 667 RAM is even cheaper and will preform the same. Other then that I think your ready to whip out the credit card.

Also unless you need the features of the Deluxe P5K, you could just get the plain P5K instead and this will also be cheaper. (Obviously if you do need the features then keep it)

Personally if your going to go with a processor such as the E6600 or even the E6700 i would suggest going with the AMD 6000+ it is every bit as powerful at the E6600 but at almost half the cost.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103773

Also AMD motherboard are cheaper these days. If you would like to save a few bucks thats just the route i would personally go.

Not really. The E6750 tops the 6000+ in every benchmark, somtimes with a pretty good margin, and is only 40 dollars more, with a clear upgrade path instead of AMD's AM2 AM2+ and AM3 mess.

the only reason i went with the pk5 deluxe is because of the wifi. but now i see the ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131196)
and the only feature of the deluxe i wanted was the wifi which this also has. what does the
"-e" mean in "p5k-e"?

i still plan on geetting the intel core 2 duo E6750

in case i decide to get a quad core down the road, which the ASUS P5K-E/WIFI
(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131196)

I think they both do. They have the same chipsets just different features.
