Building my first system... No BIOS

I am trying to build my first system, and I've gotten to step 17 on the guide here: http://www.pcmech.com/byopc/step-17-initial-boot-up/ , but the bios doesn't show up, the screen just remains blank. It's connected, because normally when it's not connected to something it has this thing that shows Red Blue Green and White, but when it's plugged into that computer, it shows nothing. Any idea on what the problem might be? Thanks.

Please let us know what components you have, here are somethings to try.

Make sure that everything that needs to be plugged in is plugged in. Lots of times people forget the 4pin connector that powers the CPU. Try reseating all of your connections (unplug everything and plug it back in), even you video card and other PCI devices. Do you have a case speaker plugged in? If so are you hearing any beeping when you try to turn on the computer? You can alway try this

if your monitor is connected to the dvi on the grapics card, make sure that the monitor is set to digital, and not analog. that happened with me the first time i used it.

just a thought

I reset all the connections and such, but same problem. And this is the same monitor I am using for this computer here, so the settings should be the same right?

It's a 3800+ (single core), the RAM is GSkill DDR2 1GB stick, here's the motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813185084

Oh, and the video card is an Evga 7600GS.

Just double checking; you do have the motherboard out of the case, correct? And are using only 1 stick of ram and no drives yet, as specified in Halo's link above? http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=168456
What kind of powersupply are you using?
