New Motherboard problems

Yp just joined these boards lookingf or help.

Ok My old motehr board fizzled after 5years of use. SO I decided to upgrade my entire setup and just keep teh HDDs and Optical drives.

picked up the following

Mach Speed MSNV-939 Socket 939 Motherboard
AMD Athal;on 64 X2
some new ram
and a PNY Geforce 8600

NOw the motherboard doesn't have onboard video and my quandary is this.

Upon start up no video, no audio, no usb activity but the power and HDD leds are actuive and accurate and everything on the mother board itself is getting power. I've tested for posting and found no evidence of it grounding out. I keep checking all my connections and anything else for possible.problems. but nothing is presenting itself and Machspeed only has support during teh weekdays during the exact hours I work. Thanks for any help/tips.
I see the sticky here. perhaps the board is indeed faulty...still doesn't make sense to me I may have go further with the nion-case test.

yeah often problems are with shorting out, are you sure video card is properly seated and so is the ram? the graphics card has a PSu attachment to it? both connections from PSu and motherboard attached?

also what PSU have you got the 8 series NVIDAs need quite a bit of power doesnt look like you upgraded yoru PSU may not be enough juice

nah it was a short out. Toook EVERYTHING out of the case and disconnected everything. Something on my firewire PCI card was shorting something because as soon as I removed it I got video. As for power needs I'm all set. The nvidia I have just needs the PCI-Express 6 pin connector which I have on my new 500 watt PSU. THanks for all the help I"m just getting the pc updated and such.
