First Time Builder Needs Help Fast !!!!!!

ok so heres the stuff

amd athlon 939 4000+ 2.4
geforce 7200gs
mother board: Soltek pro series
psu:450watt

ok so i put the graphics card in i conected the cd rom, hard drive, one stick of ddr ram 512mb.

so i pluged in the moniter to the graphics card ( the mother board dosnt have a vga conection) and i conected the key board and the mouse.

so i turnded it on, the led lights at the front turned on but thats about it.Nothing shows up on the monitor. There is a led display called the debug function on the mother board when i turn it on it says FF. so i checked the maul and it says FF= Boot but thats all it says but im not sure what that means. and the cpu fan isnt spinning at all. SO i really need help on what to do so please help me !!

If the cpu fan isn't spinning the fact that it isn't booting means it's protecting the processor from being fried.
Check to see that the heatsink/fan is installed correctly and that you've used the correct fan header for it.
What Soltek board, exactly.

Are you using the heatsink/fan that came with the processor? Is it plugged into the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard?

What brand/model is your powersupply?

this is the mother board

and the power supply is 450watt QRIUS quality products.

i realy need help setting up/instaling the BIOS iv been trying for literaly more than 5 hours but iv been getting the same results. Btw the hard drive im using has windows instaled and all my other stuff on it if that makes a difference.

What are you trying to do in the BIOS? Does the computer boot to the BIOS just fine?

You'll at least need to do a repair install to get that harddrive working, and I'd recommend a full reinstall b/c you've got drivers and config files for all the wrong hardware on that harddrive.

Put it into another computer as a slave and save your personal files first!

im not really trying to do anything in the bios i just want my computer to work and start up windows normaly. If I reinstal windows it should solve the problem right????

If you can get into the BIOS, then your issue is booting Windows, and you need to do a fresh install.

if your using a hard drive that was used in another computer, then you will have problems as it wouls still have all the drivers for the old motherboard and video card installed on it and will not work properly with the new motherboard and video card.

you must clear the old video drivers from the hard drive before using the new one and its drivers.
also you must install the chipset drivers for the new motherboard for things to work correctly.

so how do i do that ? because the pc i was using the hard drive in isnt working .

By far the easiest option here would be to re-install a fresh copy of Windows on that drive. This is the best approach, because a clean install will not have all the hardware drivers that were associated with the hardware in your old system. This approach would involve deleting ALL the data on the disc, however. To do this, set the boot order in the BIOS so that the CD drive is positioned above the hard drive - the system will then boot from the Windows CD. Now simply follow the prompts, deleting your old partition and creating a new one on the hard drive.

If, on the other hand, you have data on that drive that you need, then your only option is to perform a repair install (since you pointed out the old computer isn't working). This also involves booting from the Windows CD in the same way. Press 'Enter' to install windows as normal, but before you reach the partitioning screen, it should locate the existing windows install on the hard drive, and give you the option to repair it. Full procedures in our 'tips and tricks' forum.
