A few suggestions. That mb is some fairly old technology. Investing in a solid brand like Asus or Abit with the new chipset (P35) will go a long ways, especially if you plan to OC.

MB - ABIT IP35-E LGA 775 Intel P35 - $110

The stats on that Power Supply look good, though I'm not sure of the build quality. Usually a safe bet is Corsair, Antec, FSP (Fortron Source), Enermax and OCZ.

After rebate, this is a pretty good deal OCZ GameXStream 600W - $110

There isn't much reason to have 4gb memory, especially since you need a 64bit OS to take advantage of it all. I'd suggest G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 for budget reasons. Only $85

If you really want that HDD you can buy it, but to be honest you probably wont see much real world difference in performance. I'd suggest Seagate Barracuda 320GB SATA for $80

That is a super nice monitor you've picked, but it's at the top of the price point for that size. If you're trying to stay in a budget, I'd suggest Hanns·G 22" 5ms DVI Widescreen for $260

Not much wrong with that Plextor, but again, just a budget suggestion, LITE-ON 20X DVD±R Burner for $30

Unless you're very concerned with having the most perfect sound, I'd bag the sound card all together.

With some of these savings I'd then go and get an EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB for $300

Total comes out to $1215, which is less than what you had originally posted. If you don't already have these, you'll still need an OS, Mouse, and Keyboard. Expect to spend another $130ish on those parts. I hope this helps. Feel free to ask questions if you're not sure why some of these parts are suggested.

Hold your horses there buddy. I'm glad you like my suggestions, but I'd wait to see what some of the others have to say. They may know of a few things I don't. Unless you need to buy right now, I'd wait a day or two to see if there aren't any other suggestions.

You can pick up Win XP 32bit OEM for about $90 most places. If you really want to try Vista out you can. Some people say it's great and most of the bugs are out, but I am personally going to wait quite some time before I get it; XP is a very solid OS, and all the games are compatible with it.

Basically the difference between those two HannsG displays is that one is a true 22" display, while the other is 21.6" viewable. Not a huge difference, but the one I posted has a few extra features, like USB ports and things. Totally up to you nitehuntr which you'd like. HannsG is a pretty good LCD either way. Their customer service is pretty prompt too, and I'm not even a customer!

Water cooling is only worth it if you'll be overclocking. If your not doing alot of overclocking, fans will work fine.

For the video card I'd go with the eVga version, and for the power supply, id go with Fortron Source, OCZ or Corsair, or Antec.

For RAM go with corsair. \

For the Harddrive, the 10k rpm isn't that big of a difference from the 7200rpm, and you can save a ton of money by going with a western digital 250gb 7200rpm hard drive.

For the cd drive, go with a LiteOn

Onboard sound should be fine unless your really anal about sound and quality.
