No OS Boot after 24 hours stability
Hey all,
Typically I have really good luck with computer components, but I think my luck ran out. Building a system for my father-in-law. Below are the main components: P5N32SLI-Deluxe Intel Pentium D 820 2 GB (4X512MB) Corsair XMS2 667Mhz 2 X 8600GT WD 2500KS SATA Phillips DVDRW SATA Enermax Liberty 500W SLI Ageia Physix OEM card I was able to setup the computer completely and intall all the programs. System was running fine and I was even playing BF2 for about 7 hours or so just to get the performance of the system. I shut down the system to go get some errands done and come back to turn it on. The system POSTs but will not boot to the OS. Sometimes I get the blue screen but most times it just restarts and POSTs again. So I am thinking hardware failure of some kind and I'm thinking the MB. Could it be anything else? I already pulled all the memory except one stick and then changed all sticks is random sockets but produced the same error. No issues of any kind with the graphics. I am running to Fry's to see if I can find another MB to test with since I don't have another 775 board in the house. Any additional input will be most appreciated. |

Try that first. You must remove the motherboard from the case. See if you can get it to boot after that. Can you get into the BIOS or no? Did you change in the BIOS before you installed the OS to boot from your CD? If so did you change it back to boot from your hard drive?

Did you try booting to Safe Mode yet?
Did you try it with just one video card yet? Cricket

Thanks for the reminder to take all the components out. I found that one of the memory modules was causing the error when I used only that one module. The others were fine and boot up was no problem. Ran PC Mark 05 a few times just to make sure and everything was fine. Just goes to show that any component can be faulty! Thanks for the help!
