New Compy
Anyone have a problem with this? Not going DX10 until the games that come out can actually use it. I am reading the cards out that can do DX10 are pretty meh, too.
I am pretty much looking to play BioShock nicely, and then next year upgrade the GPUs if Fallout 3 needs more power. Price came to about $1100, which is right where I want to be. Upgradable, fast, not too expensive. This is my first time building a compy from scratch, instead of just upgrading a CPU, GPU, whatever, one piece at a time. I am slightly concerned that I am missing some glaring compatibility issue. Looks like a good, solid AMD system. Probably don't need the Zalman CPU cooler, the one that come with the CPU should do well unless you plan to OC.
You will need an optical drive, a SATA DVD would be the choice nowadays(Lite-On retail). And an OS. XP or Vista

I would drop the SLI board to a non-SLI board. Should save a little $$ there.

For a gaming build with $1,100 to spend I woudl go with Intel. You can look them up on newegg (unless I linked to a different site) for more information.
Core 2 Duo E6550 - $176 Asus P5K Motherboard - $135 Seagate 7200.10 16MB Cache SATA 320GB Hard Drive (good choice) - $80 Antec 900 Gaming Case: http://www.directron.com/ninehundred.html - $100 - Case is a personal thing, but why would you spend $200+ just for a case? Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Aftermarket CPU HSF if you want to Overclock - $20 Corsair 520W PSU (made by PC Power and Cooling I believe): http://www.buy.com/prod/corsair-520w...203270716.html $100 ($90 w/ google checkout) EVGA 8800GTS 320MB - $280 Corsair 2GB DDR2 800 (good choice): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145034 - $104 XP Home OEM - $90 OR Vista Home Premium - $112 LiteOn SATA DVD Burner w/ lightscribe RETIAL version: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106072 - $40 Total: $1125
