New PC Build - Words of wisdom please
First time building a PC. I have been reading through other new builds and came up with these parts. I am going to use it as an entertainment PC, and for video editing, TV recording, and basic computing. Not a gamer, and won't ever become one. Is everything here compatible?

I probably don't need it with this configuration. I also went with the quad core. I went with this because it is only $80 more than the core 2 duo 6750 - don't know if I should stick with this. I went with the motherboard since it seems to be recommended by so many people. I am not sure of the specific advantages it has over other motherboards, besides its apparent features. I want a capable video card, but nothing for extreme gaming. Any recommendations for a monitor - I want one with great resoution, good for watching video on. Thanks - appreciate the help |

change the dvd drive to a sata connection, not ide. and you might be able to lower the video card a bit too. for monitors, i know samsung make good monitors, but they are higher priced as well. i'm sure someone else can recommend other brands
