Sleep Mode Issues

After building my own PC for the first time, everything was working fine as it should, all drivers were installed correctly and functioning as they should. I'm using Windows XP Home edition on a Core 2 Duo on an Intel ATX board. After about a month of normal use I noticed that when I go into Sleep Mode the computer doesn't completely shutdown. The software seems to be be functioning fine, it goes into sleep and the monitor shuts off, but the PC itself is still on, with the fans and everything still running. It comes out of sleep mode as it should as well. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
