Welcome to PCMech.
Here is a list to get you started. The total comes to $650 from Newegg.com. Do you need a copy of Windows too? That is another $100. If that puts you over budget, use the motherboard onboard video and save up for the video card. Asus P5K-VM: $120 Core 2 Duo E4400: $126 2GB Crucial DDR2-667: $67 Seagate 250GB: $70 LiteOn DVDRW: $40 Case of your choice: $50 Fortron 450w PSU: $58 eVGA Gefoce 8600GT: $120

$650 is very tight for a gaming rig. For case you might look at :
COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119068 which right now would save you about $10 off alarons budget or as an alternative you could get yourself a: Antec Sonata III http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129024 which already has a good PSU so you would not have to buy a seperate PSU. You could also get the 320GB Seagate for just $10 more if you can swing it. Alaron posted a great list so dont really have any better suggestions for that budget. Kat

thx for the feed back, for the person that posted first that is almost exactly the same build i had pretty much the only difference is the cpu and the power supply, i had a 600watt power supply in mind, but if you think a 450watt will do then thats even better, thanks to both of you that replied

450W is fine...that system won't be a heavy hitter on the power usage. Also, that's a quality 450W (and cheap price) unit.
