New PC boot problems
Ok this is the first time I've built a pc and I'm stuck. When I startup my pc it goes like this:
Verifying DMI pool data... Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter So I put in my windows cd and press enter and it just keeps giving me the same error. I've triple-checked all connections, and also tried setting the cd-rom as first boot priority in bios, and it doesn't read the disk. This is what I have: Mobo: ESC Nvidia nForce 590 SLI CPU: AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+ HDD: Samsung 400gb CD-ROM: Samsung DVD/CD rom/burner the copy of windows xp I bought is an OEM, not sure if that makes any difference, though I was told it would not...any help would be appreciated.

What type of DVD drive is that Samsung? IDE or SATA?
Do you have another optical drive you can swap in to test with? Samsung drives (hard drives and optical drives) are not the most reliable. Cricket
