First PC Build

Hello, I plan to build my first PC later this month. The primary uses will be for home office, CAD work and light gaming. I also plan to add a TV-tuner card in the near future for recording TV, etc. like a media PC; I already have XP Pro for my operating system. My budget is $900-1000 and I have chosen the parts below. I would appreciate any feedback with regards to component compatibility and any necessary things I have missed (or excessive things that I don't need). Thanks for your help!

Welcome to PCMech. That list is very solid. My only suggestion is a new power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104954 Cooler Master is too light on the rails.

welcome to the forums.

i would go for a corsair 520W HX power supply better brand in PSU and you dont want to cut back on that part.

The motherboard you pick is ok but better to go for ASUS p5k as it is more future proof.

kingston are ok but had some issues lately, better to go corsair value select 667 ram.

the hard drive you picked out think you can get 70gig more for about $10 more with the seagate 7200.10 320gb model which is better.

with a decent motherboard you wont need a sound card, the onboard audio is very good.

I think if you are doing CAD and have budget for it a better processor may help, maybe the E6600 which is pretty cheap right now
