Dell 4500S won't boot!

Hi everyone!

When closing the browser on my wife's aging but entirely serviceable Dell 4500S (XP SPII), the system completely shut off and was beginning to reboot, or so I thought.

Here's what I got instead:



I'm advised to use the arrow keys to make a choice, but there is no response; as soon as a key is struck, the machine freezes including the countdown seen in the bottom of the image.

I don't claim to be an expert in these matters, but on the other hand, I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty, so to speak.

Any help out there?

right click on my computer>properties>advanced>start up and recovery>system failure. Remove the check mark under automaticlly restart.. When the computer restarts again by itself it should blue screen.. If it doesn right down what it says and post..
