Should I wait for the DDR3 to become standard or are there any DDR3/DDR2 motherboards coming out? Also, Will my motherboard be good for gaming for a year or 2 from now? As far as new procs coming out. And with my ram... would this be sufficient enough for gaming or do I need to spend the extra for the 800 MHZ. Any if so, what ram is compatible with my motherboard? Or is the valueselect good enough?

If you need the computer now, buy what's available now. But if you can wait you might want to see if DDR3 is worth the hype (probably not though). And it's not so much RAM but the chipsets that support DDR3 that need time to mature and that could take awhile.

They might have motherboards like that but I wouldn't use one...in the past the motherboards that supported 2 different types of RAM weren't the best quality.

I understand AMD has AM3 in the wings already so a AM2 motherboard would definitely not be able to support AM3 (or maybe even AM4) processors 2 years from now.

You need DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) RAM for a AMD build.

ValueSelect doesn't come in DDR2 800...you need Corsair XMS memory. Or you can go to the ASUS web site and check the QVL (qualified vendor list) for the RAM that works with that motherboard.

Here's my take for the AM3 to AM2. Any validity to this?

BTW... with that ram. My board does not push the voltage to run it at PC6400 speeds (2.1 v.) It only maxes out at 1.9 v. from what I have experienced. I would try this ram... Corsair XMS2 PC6400 but alas, it will only run at slower speeds.

If the Window panel is not important for yu, then meybe yu should try the Cooler Master 690. It has almost the same structure as 900, but a lil bit higher and wider. Instead of 200mm fan on top, they have two optional 120mm etc etc up to a total possible of 7 120mm and liek 1 80mm; yu get a free 120 mm in front. Best of all, it is liek 30-40 dollars less than 900 atm. I bought my when it had -20 rebate w/ free S&H; 59.99 if MIR actually returned.

I am surprise that the case is not picking up popularity compare to how nice it is, personally speaking. Hopefully CM would release liek a separate window-side panel for the 690 just liek for Stacker.

Hey your pc parts are pretty good indeed, but you should also pay attention to the price ,I mean you should find some deals to help take down the price .
I think Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard is a good choice for gaming, but I found that there is a low price deal for Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard only priced at $51 instead of $70 and the price includes $6 shipping :

I think this deal is good for you ,hope it helps .

Then check the QVL for that motherboard over at the ASUS web site. It will list the RAM that has been tested and is known to work with that motherboard.

Thank you all for the kind replies. I do like the low profile of the case... nothing obstrustive. I will very well consider that. And thanks for the tipoff on the keyboard.

I believe I will go with 2 of these.
cm2x1024-6400c4

They seem to work with the M2N-SLI but others have experienced it working with the m2n-e as well without any further configs other then sticking it in the slot. Some claim to acquire 4-4-4-12 ram timings at 1.9 V

Well, I heard that Value Ram is not Ideal for gaming. Meybe yu should try these instead, almost same price w/ MIR of course.

Patriot, the rebate expire today, but I am sure they will put up a new rebate offer soon.

A-Data used to have a 40 rebate. Should have another offer soon.

This Corsair isreally popular apparently.

Yeah that's the ram I am getting. I dumped the M2N-E mobo for the M2N32-SLI due to it naturally having a higher ram voltage and more overclockable... and it also has on board wireless lan. Another big perk was the newer 590 chipset.
