Barebone
I'm looking at buying a barebone from Newegg. Anyone have some suggestions on which one I should get?

My suggestion is to forget the barebones kit and just pick out all the parts separately yourself.

Barebones "can" be ok...You're just limited as to what you can get....

You can almost always getter a better deal for your money. I've seen some barebone kits with abesolutely terrible part choices for the money...

The problem with most barebone kits is they will bundle something with them they are over stocked on. Does not mean it is a bad part but might not be just what you are looking for. Some barebones kits are not even built, so really all you are saving is the time it takes to select parts which people on this forum will be glad to help you with. Another thing about barebone kits is even if they are assembled, they have probably not been tested. So when it comes time to start it up if you have a problem you are more in the dark than if you built it yourself.
If you really dont want to build it you would be better off picking the parts and getting someone local to put it together for you. Or there are some outfits like AVAdirect (think that is there name) that let you select all your parts and then they will build and test it for a nominal fee. But the best way is just to build it yourself, it is not that hard, and most problems you are likely to face the bare bones set up does not avoid. Kat
