Startup

I just finished putting my new computer together and booted it up. everything seemed fine there were no errors. I put in a Kubuntu live disc and started it up....when it got to the mount CD part it just...stopped. Then I tried a basic Linux Rescue CD....same thing. I don't have an XP cd to try (later today) but I was wondering what possible problem there might be. My guess is Ram or Hard Drive. Thanks in advance

What are the complete system specs for this computer? Please list all the part by brand and model including the power supply.

What kind of optical drive are you using? IDE or SATA? If IDE, is the jumper set properly for the type of IDE cable you're using?
