build trouble-no picture on monitor

Specs
ABIT AG8 motherboard
Pentium D 805 processor
Nvidia GeForce 8400 graphics card
1 gb Ram

I put the whole thing together and powered it up. I know I still have to set up the BIOS, then load an OS. The problem is no picture shows up on the screen. I have checked to make sure everything is seated properly, and all power cords are connected. I know the graphics card is running because the fan is running. But still no picture. Please Help.

Having problems with a new build? Try this. You must remove the motherboard from the case when doing this...you're trying to determine if the motherboard is shorting/grounding out to the case or not.

Did you install the standoffs between the motherboard and the mounting tray?

What power supply are you using? Brand and model.

I don't have a case for it yet. The motherboard is sitting on a wooden desk

What brand power supply are you using?

Do you have all necessary power connectors plugged into the motherboard?

I'm not sure what brand the power supply it is. It is 600 watt max. I have connected all the cords necessary. All of the fans run when I power it up.
