new build problems

I just put together a new pc i got everything assembled and it boots each time doing a memory count and a checking the proccsor i can boot into the bios and make and adjustments it detects everything and then it get to the Verifying DMI Pool Data and hangs. put a backtrack 2 and windows xp and a ubuntu boot cd in the drive to boot from and it hangs every time so any suggestions?

Please post the complete system specs of this computer. List all the parts by brand and model including the power supply.

Video: e-GEforce 6200
Ram: kingston pc2700 333mhz 1gb stick
Hd:Western Digital WD800


The hd is completley blank

What brand is that motherboard? I don't recognize the model number.

What brand and wattage power supply are you using?

You might want to check the CLEAR CMOS jumper and make sure it's on the NORMAL pins and not the CLEAR pins.

Verifying DMI Pool Data? That sounds like the Hard Drive hanging, could've got a dodgy one. Better get a second oppinion of somebody who actually knows what their talking about.

Try this troubleshooter and let us know what happens. You must remove the motherboard from the case and connect only what it says to connect to the motherboard...no drives or expansion cards.
