PC Rebuild

I am looking to rebuild my PC. I want to only replace the Motherboard, processor and at a later time the Video card. I plan on using my PC for some gamming ( Somthing that could run some of the newer games) and web surfing. Here is what I have.

HD: Western Digital WD1200AB
http://www.precomparts.com/western-d...tml?x=shopping

RAM: Kingston KVR400
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820141401

PSU: Just PC(USA) jpc-425sf
http://www.pricecomparison.com/prdtd...orenum=2305093

Processor: AMD Athlon axda2800dkv4d
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?inv...at=CPU&cpc=CLR

(for some reason all the sights that I have looked at rates this processor at 2.08GHz but in my computer properties screan it says it's only running at 1.24GHz)
I don't know the brand or model of the motherboard. The guy that built the computer for me said it was from an Emachine.

Here is what I would like to get.

Motherboard: ASUS M2R32-MVP AM2 AMD 580X CrossFire ATX AMD Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16813131095

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Windsor 2.6GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16819103759

I havent decided on a Video card yet.

Sorry some of the links are not to newegg but alot of the stuff I have is very old.
Thank you for any input.

Well what you have at the moment is quite an old system, so if you were to purchase a new motherboard, you would also need new ram (because the motherboard holds DDR2 not DDR which you have now) and you would also need a decent graphics card to run the current games at reasonable settings.

And all of this is virtually verging on a complete whole new build anyway, which may be easier for you to do so.

What is the current budget you have for your upgrades, and we can see what we can pull up for you.

I was planing on $300-$400 with just the motherboard, Processor and video card. I can get RAM for cheap so I'm not factoring that in to the cost. I'm still deciding on a video card (I haven't reserched/compared any yet. Thanks for any feed back. And by the way I plan on staying with windows XP for a little longer.
