Question New Build: Seems like it's working, but no video!

I have just built a new rig, and as soon as I turned it on, all the LED's turned on, all the fans started whirring smoothily, and my screen....stayed black.

Here are my specs:

Antec 900 case
OCZ GameXstream 600W PSU
ASUS M2N-SLi Deluxe mobo
Seagate Barricuda 7200.10 320GB
AMD Athlon 64 x2 5200+
Sony NEC Optiarc DVD-ROM drive
nVidia GeForce 7600GT
(all from Newegg)
RAM is from Crucial: 2x512MB 240 pinn DDR2
I have a recycled screen and keyboard, and got a new G5 mouse.

Anyway, once I finished putting everything together, and making sure all of the connections were secure, I connected the power supply, screen, keyboard, speakers, and mouse. I turned on the screen, waited for it to turn orange, and hit the on button on the case. All the 900's lights turned on, the fans turned on, the PSU's light turned on, and the CPU and graphics card fans started spinning. Even after about a minute, the LED on the screen remained orange and nothing appeared. I've looked everywhere, and can't seem to find an answer. I know the video card could be faulty, but I think it might be something else.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I was just thinking this seems to be the top problem for new builds.

You are sure you followed all anti-ESD precautions, static electricity is very damagingto computer parts. It is usually advisable to wear an antistatic wristband and avoid touching the components on pcb's.

This could also be a faulty hardware problem and no screen can be caused by anything. Try the troubleshooter posted by glc.

It's more often an assembly error, hence the out of the case build recommendation.

I was referring to the black screen on first power-on being the most common problem of new builds, not static discharge being the top cause of it
