Failed rebuild attempt...help compatiblility
Tried replacing old mobo w/Micro ATX GF7050V-M79.5" x 8.5"; Earthwatts 380 ATX12 v2.0, celeron420 775, 1GB corsair and keeping a no name micro atx case but it came w/ 200W Sparkle PSU and the new PSU doesn't fit right. Would this micro atx mobo fit in the antec super lanbouy? Bstock is only $39. but does it come with cooling fan? What is a inexpensive micro atx mid tower case that will hold Earthwatts 380, 1floppy, and 1 cdrom, 1 hdd?
Any suggestions appreciated. |

What kind of computer are you working with? A home built one or a name brand? Name brand computers often use proprietary parts that are just slightly different from standard form factors to make them impossible to upgrade.
A micro-ATX motherboard will fit in any standard ATX case. The micro-ATX motherboard uses the standard ATX mounting hole locations, just not all of them. Cricket

Thanks, the home pc brand is GLoBal... some TV store deal my elderly neighbor got hooked into yrs ago... I opened the darn thing up and found no fan in the fan enclosure. Anyway I thought I could just get all new major parts and use the same case, cdrom, and floppy and buy fans now. But the wholes to screw EAWatt380 in don't line up... just trying to save the guy a few bucks he only does email and can't open pics sent to him. I need a new case now. The Antec Super Lanboy is fun looking for him and its $39. just don't know if it comes with fans. For antec case is safe bet for already purchase psu.

FYI---Flipped the new Antec PSU and holes now line up... Duh
New problem realized that thenew Micro ATX GF7050V-M79.5" x 8.5" comes with "No" Printer Port Connector, it has the naked printer port pins on the mobo. Guess this mobo is better suited for a network workstation desktop. It only boots into Windows XP when I hit the F1 button after self post test otherwise it just sits there.???? Can I get a printer port connector? Any suggestions where and how to hook this up? So much for rebuilding Home PC for a friend. LOL Thanks |
