Computer turns off 1 second after turning on

I wasn't sure what forum to put this into, so here goes~ I sent a message to some one who's helped me out of 3 tight spots so far but I think he's afk.

__________

I put my PC into standby last night (I do this every night) and when I pressed the button on my case to turn it back on, it wouldn't... so I held this button down (its the power button for standby resume/Power off (if held)) to turn it off since I couldn't turn it on... it wouldn't even turn off. So I left for work and figured I'd take care of it in the morning.

Its morning ^^ I come home from work and my PC is now off... No big deal, I figured it turned off when I left my room.

So I go to turn my computer on, and it turns on for 1 second or less. sometimes almost 2 seconds, but it does not stay powered up.

I checked my power cable, all other cables connected, I tried different outlets, I tried unplugging my PC for about 5 minutes, I also cleaned out a hell of a lot of dust since its been sitting inside my desk cabinet for a year

Everything looks normal inside, but it won't start up... It continues to power up for a second, and then turn off.

Inside my case, there's a green light on my mobo (it has always been lit up) so I assume it is getting power... I thought maybe its not getting *enough* power; maybe something in my PC has gone bad after a year of use?

May want to do the out of case trouble shooting as discribed here: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=168456
Would list the mains parts by brand/model#/and size for the PSU. This will help to see if you have some parts that may be less than optimal. Since the PC has some age to it, probably looking at a part failure.
