Need Advice
Hey I have a budget of about 300$ possibly 400$ to spend and was wondering what kind of computer I could get with that which would be a pretty good gaming and overall computer?
I was searching Newegg and came up with these 4 main parts: (I have a soundcard, harddrive, keyboard, mouse, memory, cd-rom already) Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811147058 Power supply - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817153023 Processor - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116198 Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Store/Category...e=Motherboards Video Card - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150255 Just want to say, I've never built a computer before and don't have much money to spend, but I'm aiming for a 3.0 Processor, at least 2GB Ram, and I have no real clue about Motherboards, Cases and Video Cards. Thanks, if you need more information I can supply it.

you should start by telling what ram you have already to see what kind of motherboard you need to support it.
that video card will not get you too much for gaming, but if you aren't getting it to run crysis or anything then you should be fine. you might want to seriuosly consider saving more money up |

to get even OK with games, you'd need a 8600GT that's like $100, you'd need an OS which would be another $100, that's 200 right there, and you'd still can't forget about tax and shipping........
Yea, like wammy said, seriously suggest saving up. I'd say at MINIMUM to building a new computer should be $500 |

You can save with Vista Basic or XP Home and a P5K SE board. You will have a limit of two IDE devices, all the new stuff is going over to SATA. If you need to save more, you can use a Pentium dual core E21xx-series.
