Upgrade the rig

Hey guys,

I am looking into an upgrade just because... It's been about 3 years so what the hey...

I have currently:

ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe Rev 2
AMD XP Mobile 2600 oc'd to 2533mhz
XFX 6600gt
1.5 gig Patriot Xtreme 184 pin DDR3 (which i love)
530 (or so) Sparkle PSU (Works flawlessly)

Basically what I want is a new Mobo, CPU, and Video Card... I would like to keep everything else the same, but don't know if i'll be able to... I use the pc for gaming, graphic design, etc...

BTW I want to stay AMD!

Unfortunately you'll have to replace more than just those three parts...you'll need a new power supply (unless yours is already a ATX 2.0 or higher with the 20+4 motherboard power connection), new RAM (most new motherboards use DDR2, not DDR...and your 184 pin RAM is not DDR3. DDR3 has 240 pins) and you may want to replace any IDE drives with SATA. Basically you'd almost need to build a new computer from the ground up.

What kind of budget are you working with?
