My mom wants a new computer and i said id build one for her. I need a list of supplies from new egg, that would be greatly apppreciated. Nothing fancy all shes going to do is go on the internet and do photos stuff like that. I want it to be under 500, nothing special.

If you need to shave prices, you could go with a slower Pentium-E or even get a Celeron-L. If you go with XP, you could go down to 1 gig of ram. Keep the 2gb in there if you want Vista.

Don't need a video card, that onboard video is Aero capable.

She will enjoy the E2140, 1GB RAM and a good entry level Asus P5K (that's one very for the low end version, as I build this one for my friend too!).

I just ordered the parts for a low end build - $704 shipped including everything.

Foxconn TS-1 case
Asus P5KPL-VM motherboard
E2180
2x1gb Corsair VS DDR2-667
Seagate 80gb SATA
Lite-On SATA DVD burner
Mitsumi combo floppy/card reader
Cheap PCI wireless card
Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse
Hanns-G 19" widescreen
XP Home

I priced out an equivalent Dell at over $800.

Without the monitor and XP, that build would be under your $500 target.
