Question memory match-up for ASUS P5K E

would these mem stix be a good choice for the above MB

That's major overkill unless you're thinking of doing some extreme overclocking.

Which processor are you thinking of using?

would DDR2 800 be a better fit

primary objective is absolute stability, NO OC'ing

A 1066MHz FSB processor like the Q6600 uses a motherboard FSB of 266MHz and if you double it (DDR) you get 533MHz or PC2 4200 (DDR2 533). It's recommended that you go slightly faster on the RAM (PC2 5300 DDR2 667). You could use DDR2 800 but you really won't see an increase in performance.

The Q6600/P5K-E I just built used Corsair DDR2-800 CAS 5 1.9 volt ram. That's as stable as it gets.
