Regarding Gigabyte and ASUS motherboards...
The issue I am having is that the P5K from ncix.com does not come with any manufacturer warranty, at least it doesn't say anything about it. On other sites like tigerdirect.ca, it comes with 3 years manufacturer warranty, but a $200 price tag.
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...nufacture=ASUS There also seem to be lots of issues with this problem, which are probably due to bad building by the users, but I have never built a system before so I am concerned The gigabyte is alot cheaper, and actually comes with 2 years warranty, people seem to have less problems with this one. The only issue I have is its gigabyte and I haven't really heard anything about them. http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...cture=Gigabyte So I am simply asking if the gigabyte might be the better choice here, considering the warranty and the price. |

I read somewhere that they were owned by ASUS. I bought the GA-P35-DS4, been running for five days. Either me or the BIOS is a little flakey though . You might like to check warrenty on the respective manufacturer's web site. Tigers is probably not the best place to buy anything

Manufacturer's warranty is manufacturer's warranty. It's 3 years no matter who you buy it from.
Yes, Asus and Gigabyte merged. The high end boards are Asus, the middle ones are Gigabyte, and the low end junk is Asrock. |

I might as well stick to the ASUS motherboards then. Thank you for the replies.
