pc wont boot

my first build wont boot. its about two years old. my 631 has always ran hot. always got warnings and it was working then i came back a hour later to a blank screen. im sure its not the video card because i cant play music from that computer on the network anymore. the ethernet light on MB is on, not sure if that means the mb is ok or not. Im thinking its the proccessor what do u guys think? Any help would be appreciated thanks

thats the most probable source of the problem. I would try reseating the cpu, do you have new thermal paste on it?

Did you pull the motherboard from the case to troubleshoot this problem yet?

You'll want to make sure the LGA775 heatsink is installed properly. Here's a illustrated guide.
