System panel connector question (w/ pics)
I'm using an old gateway case for a new build and have some questions on the system power connector. I'm fairly certain the switch doesn't have a hdd activity LED. Behind the push button switch are three pins which only two are connected with a blue and white wire. Then right behing the LED are three wires which are green, orange and black in color. Also there is a row of three pins that don't have wires attached. I'm using a Asus " Q-connector" to connect to a P5K-v mb. Any ideas on how i would go about connecting the switch to mb? See pics of the switch below.

Why are you using an old Gateway case in the first place? How old is it? Does it have good cooling? Today's systems run hotter than the older ones and if the case doesn't have good cooling you may end up with heat related problems in the future.

If the blue and white wires are from the switch, they can be connected to the 2 pins for the PWR connection. If there are 3 wires coming from the LED, it may be a dual color LED. A way to test it is to touch a pair of the leads to a 1.5v battery and see what lites up.
