Motherboard for Q6600 and 2GB DDR2 800 Ram
@ Mods, this is a repost from here: http://www.forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=189691 , if you want to close a thread, clost that one, I only had one person helping me out, so I brought it here.
I bought a Q6600 (SLACR) on Black Friday for $211  . I also bought 2GB OCZ DDR2 800 Cas 4-5-5-15 for $60 -$40 MIR = $20 (Link). Now I need a motherboard. FYI, this upgrade is going to be for the computer in my sig. I am planning to overclock.I have been looking around and the P5K SE looks good to me: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131189 (buying from buy.com because it is cheaper than newegg) However, I have a overclocking question that I can't find the answer to. Can I set the ram (DDR2 800) to DDR2 533 so that I can overclock the CPU a lot without actually overclocking my ram? The P5K SE supports DDR2 667 "minimum" but do any of you know if there is a way to force it to DDR2 533? If that isn't possible, do you know of any good motherboards in the ~$105 shipped range that will let me do that? Thanks!

If you're going to overclock you should take a look at what ABIT has available for that processor. ABIT motherboards give you a little more control when overclocking (more BIOS options) and they're known for their overclocking abilities.

The only P35 that Abit offers near my price range is similar to the Asus P5K and it costs $130, which is more than I would like to spend. Plus reviewers say it has a boot problem that adds 10 seconds to the boot time as well as some other problems, so I think I will stay away from this one.
