CD Drive
Okay, I built my first computer yesterday and everything works. It starts up and all but then when I insert the windows XP CD, there lies the problem. It keeps saying something like "Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk and press enter"..or something like that :P My friend told me to press f8 on start and select the CD Drive to boot but then when I press f8, I only see floppy and hard drive. At first I had the wrong wire connected, but after I found out I used the correct wire to connect the CD Drive to the motherboard. I also set the CD Drive to master using the jumpers on the back of it. I don't know what's wrong :/ It "looks" like I did everything correctly...but then again, I probably didn't since it won't work
Can anyone help me? Thanks |

Welcome to PCMech.
Try jumpering your disc drive to Cable Select instead.

Have you selected CD drive to boot first in the BIOS?

Thank you VERY much =)
The problem was that I had to set the jumper onto Cable Select rather than master. |
