New Computer! Help needed

Hey everyone, I am trying to put together a pretty impressive rig for both 3d modeling/animation as well as a gaming rig. I really dont know too much about parts and compatibility so if you could take a look at what I kinda started with and recommend any changes that would be really wonderful.

Anyway, anything you guys have for me would help a ton! thanks again

Here's what I think.

Power supply is overkill. Take a look a the corsair models.
Unless you really need the slight increase in speed I'd drop the raptors for something else.
I would try on-board sound first, you have plenty of CPU power and on-board these days are pretty decent.
Unless you are going to do some heavy OCing I would lose the HSF as it will void your warranty.

Do you have a budget, from the looks of those part it's seems, if you do, it's pretty high.

Others are a lot better at this than me.

well I am looking for something around 4-4.5k$ I first started looking at sites like digitalstormonline.com and thought that I could order some of the rigs cheaper then they had. So most of my parts are based of them.... I really have no idea about this kinda stuff tough. So you would take out the heat sink? I was just assuming one is needed for someting like this. Also this is a really dumb question but do cases come with the fans... :P

Also for the rest of the parts that I have listed, is there any conflict you can see from them?

You would be better off with a newer motherboard, Intel P35 or X38 based. The case will come with a couple of fans, you should be good unless you experience heat problems. Also, if you are serious about 3D modelling, you will need either Nvidia Quadro or ATi FireGL. The V7600, V8600 and V8650 from ATi are currently the best workstation cards out there, and they will game pretty well.

Make sure that board supports sli.

For a compatable power supply check out: www.slizone.com

Also, If you're going for 4gb of ram, get a 2x2 pack instead of a 4x1.

For the onbaord, I was referring the onbaord sound. Unless you have a good set of speakers and/or good set of ears you probably won't notice a sound quality difference.
