$2K? Damn, if your willing to spend that much I would stay away from getting PC cases that come with the power supply, from my experiences, they tend to be low grade. If you are unsure about what kind of power supply you should get, read this: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=101151.

Also, as far as running 8GB of RAM, you need a 64 bit operating system. I wouldn't get Vista at this point since it's only been out for a while, wait till the majority of the problems have been sorted out.

Actually 2.5k is my budget with this pcWell i dunno if the xp will work properly with my mobo cuz the recommended OS is Vista.

Just like u said 64 bit OS to read 8gb ram so im just gonna get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116215 is not the upgrade one.And that psu coolmaster pro 1k watts has a good rating with combo case thats why i put it in my list

From what I saw, you only have 4gb of ram. Either way, get a 64bit version of Vista. Ultimate will work, also look at home premium. It might save you a few bucks.

Is there a paticular reason to get that board? It seems to be overkill unless being fully utilized. If there isn't a good reason for it, I would change it to a P5K-E and then change the processor to a Q6600 or E6750. That right there will also allow you to save money.

1000wt power supply is way overkill. There's just no need for it with what you picked out.

Since it looks like you plan on overclocking, I'll suggest that you look at g.skillz ram. they have a 2x2gb pack of ddr2 1000 for $130.

If you go anywhere, any retail store or any type of retail, they're all most likely going to recommend Vista because it's newer and more expensive. Just a way to get people to spend more $$. And as far as not being sure if XP will work properly, I can already tell you all Windows OS will work with that MB/CPU.. It's just a matter of program compatibility and how stable the OS is, but other than that... you're fine.
