Unhappy New Build, Configuration Change Boot Error

Hi all. I haven't visited in a while. I'm doing an economy build with these main ingredients:

A generic case (has been very nice to work with - seems like a good case).
CoolerMaster 350w PSU
IBM Netvista 8305 Motherboard
Intel P4 CPU 1.8Ghz
2 x 256mb Apacer pc3200 ddr sdram
Maxtor 120gb 7200rpm hd
Maxtor 40gb 7200rpm hd
LG GSA-H55L DVD writer
ATI Rage 128 Pro AGP 4x (32mb)
Windows XP Home

I'm getting an error when booting up: Error 0662: Configuration Change has occured (with 2 short, quick beeps).

I guess some configuration changes have indeed occured, since I'm still putting it together. The last thing I did was install the video card (and the ATI software) and make the adjustment in the bios from Integrated to AGP video.

The computer was starting up fine before that (error-free, using the onboard video). Now, if I pull the video card out and change the bios back to integrated, I still get the error, and two more errors as well.

Either way, the operating system still loads fine if I press F2 (to resume) after the error when booting. I've checked the Device Manager for conflicts; there are no exclamation marks anywhere, although there are question marks by "Other Devices/ Etherenet Controller, Multimedia Audio Controller, SM Bus Controller, USB Controller" (unrelated issue?).

Any advice would be much appreciated,
Andre

Sounds like a possible conflict between video card and on-board video not having the correct drivers. When installing the video card, need first to deleted drivers for the on-board. Same goes for the reverse.

Thanks flanzig1. I didn't know I needed to delete the old driver (or that anything from the operating system could cause an error during booting, for that matter). I'll try that.

Darn...hasn't worked.
I've tried switching from Integrated to AGP video in the bios setup, and when the OS starts it installs an AGP driver from the Windows directory, and it replaces the onboard video (no longer shows) in the Device Manager.

Windows doesn't seem to like the ATI driver if I try to update it (says the best driver is already installed). I can install the ATI driver from it's own setup file, but it doesn't replace the Windows driver that's being used.

Somehow, though, I still think you were right - that it's the source of my boot error.
