ATX power switch

I'm not building a new pc. Its already bulit, but my power button/cable has stopped working so I really need to find a ATX power switch. The shops around me are unless and have told me to buy a new case. I refuse to spend £25 on a new case just to replace a small switch.

Does anyone know where online I can buy one of these cables? they look like this
http://www.directron.com/atxswitch.html

I'm from Scotland

Is it the power button on the case that is broken?

Does the case have a reset button?

yes, its the cases button which fell off yrs ago. What remains and is now not working is the switch and cable that is identical to the picture in the link.

There is a reset button. Could I use the cable from that?

You could probably just switch the cables connections on the mother board. Look at where the power button is connected, and then connect the reset button to the same place.

I'll try that, but I'd still love ideas from others on replacement parts. People so far have suggested pounced on any pc's I find on the street and going to see whats at recycling centers, but if anyone knows how to buy one.

I think they sell something at:

http://www.directron.com/atxswitch.html

It has the wires and the lead which plugs into the pins.

It is the lead wires and the little plastic part that plugs into the pins on the motherbard that is important. Any momentary switch from radio shack or local electronic shop will work. This works just like a door bell switch or buzzer button.

You could just take apart any old computer case and get the parts you need. Might find the parts in someones trash bin or garage.

If your case has a reset button just use that as the power button...it's the same type of switch.

But if you really want a new power switch I'm sure you could get one from an electronics store...just take the dead one with you when you go there and tell them it's a momentary switch. Last time I had to buy one it was about $12.
