New Build Suggestions
First time bulider here.
Iam going for gaming, not really worried about the money, but dont want to over-do-it. I can pretty much pick out the other parts i need easily, but iam having trouble with mobo, vid card and processor choices/compatiblity. Let me know what you guys think. You should gte either the new 512 GTS or ATI 3870 for best value and performance. It is quite redundant to get any of the old GTS now.

I don't think you'll be wanting to use any of the benefits of the X38 chipset.. the P35 would do you fine. Look at the P5K-E or P5K Premium - which is amazing.
Quad core is out so have a look for a Q6600 - if you see a G0 stepping one even better. Another choice of GFX card would be the 8800GT. BFG are good but most of us round here go for EVGA. They do a KO and SSC version of the 8800GT - well worth getting!

I'd agree with the above posters, go for an 8800GT, or the 3870 (review of the latter here: http://www.itreviews.co.uk/hardware/h1453.htm)
Great value cards, both of them. |
