Difference b/t these two Intel Conroe CPU's

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80557E6750 - Retail 189.00

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 Conroe 2.66GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80557E6700 - Retail 319.00

The 6750 appears to be the more powerful yet is much cheaper. Why? I'd like to save the money unless someone can tell me why its worth the extra 130 bucks.

thanks!

The 6750 is the newer of the two, having a 1333MHz FSB to the 6700's 1066MHz. A person in another thread asked about the price difference, I think it was due to it being an older product.

Agreed, that's what I heard.

It's not worth the extra $130. The E6750 is a better performer (because of the faster FSB speed) and is cheaper so that's the way to go.

The reason the E6700 is more expensive has more to do with supply and demand, not performance. Not too many of them left in the supply chain.

Thanks a lot you guys...weird how they keep that higher price tag on an older product...but now I can make an informed decision.
