Quad or Dual Core?

I currently have a Dual Core, which took almost TWO YEARS to be of use and is running dandy, but I want a new Processor(Don't worry, I have all the other information done, I just want to hear opinions)

Now...I can get a Quad Core 2.2GHZ for the same price a Dual Core 3.2GHZ(Other stats don't matter)

SOme games are taking advantage of Quad-core already, to my surprise, but how many, really? I mean, it took so long for Dual Core support for most things to come.

I'm just not sure if I should buy a Quad core and look to the future or buy a Dual core and pwn all the current games out there right NOW(HL2, UT3, Crysis(Somewhat...) )

I mean...I hear UT3 has Performance gains from Quad already, yet still...

So what are your opinions? Plan for the future? or pwn right now?

Dual core will still dominate games for some time. Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD. Either way...

The other info on the CPU does indeed matter. gHz isn't the whole story, and a CPU should never be graded on just that spec. What models were you thinking?

It will be a while before there's that many apps that can make a QUAD go to work.
I can't tell one bit of difference (in gaming) between duals and quads.
If you want something that's a challenge to overclock, or you do a lot of folding, go with a Quad.
For everyday stuff and gaming, Dual cores are still in control.

Not only that, but the CPU takes relatively little load in games...GPU is the real workhorse.
