Mid Lvl gaming build

Ok I think I have finally found a good build for my new Intel gaming rig. I am not going to Overclock the system just play gaming. Let me know what you think before I take the plunge and buy the parts. Thanks in advance!

The system looks to be pretty balanced, it's got enough power, ram and the graphics card is very good. The ram that you picked out is meant for overclocking, so it doesn't run at 667MHz which would give you a 1:2 FSB to Ram ratio. You should either downclock your ram to 667MHz, or buy a different pair of ram stick working at 667MHz or PC2-5300.

Ok so I switched the MOBO and the RAM the following is what I switched to. . .

MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131227

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146673

Is this setup overkill for a guy that will not overclock?

I'd stick with your first motherboard. The P5K is a proven performer. The Maximus uses the new Intel X38 chipset which is a bit too new to recommend. That RAM is fine for your setup.
