Question about Asus P5K-E and RAM

I have been following the posts in this forum for a few weeks in order to build my own pc. Not a serious gamer, so I did not think an 8800 video card was necessary. Also wanted to try Vista. I tried to follow the general consensus here, and went for:

Asus P5K-E/Wifi-AP
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16813131196
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4 GHz
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16819115017
EVGA 256-P2-N751-TR GeForce 8600GT 256MB 128-bit
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16814130085
Western Digital Caviar SE 500GB
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16822136178
Microsoft Windows Vista 64-Bit Home Premium -OEM
Antec 900 case with 750W power supply

I bought the CORSAIR XMS2 2GB(2x1GB) 240-pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820145034

I haven't opened anything other than the MB yet because I read in a recent thread about the above RAM being wrong for a different Asus MB (P5K-VM)

GLC said: “Incorrect ram - that's CAS 4 2.1 volt. You need CAS 5 1.8 or 1.9 volt for best stability.”
Cricket recommended:
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory – Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145590

Would the CAS 5 RAM from Cricket also be better for the Asus P5K-E? The Asus users guide QVL has 1024MB CORSAIR (part # CM2X1024-6400C4) listed with a "CL" of 4. Is this the Cas Latency? However, when I search for that part # on Newegg.com, it comes up with the XMS2 RAM with a Cas Latency of 5, 1.9 V. It looks like the CAS 5 is the correct one, but I'm a little confused. I cannot find any QVL on asus.com.

Go with the CAS 5 ram. It is a proven type of ram that works with the Intel Conroe CPUs. The CAS 4 may be gotten to work with a bunch of tweaking in the BIOS.
