SLI Dual Card Noob Question

Installing new mobo with 2 SLI cards. Do I have to install one at a time or can I install both, fire it up and start installing Windows? Using 2 8800 GT cards...

Also, which slot is the primary PCI-E slot?

What motherboard do you have? I would imagine the upper most (nearest the CPU) is the primary. I don't know anout the install. However I would guess you can do it with 2. Give it a try you can't come to any harm.

Well, this is the board here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813127020

Also, I noticed that it has 3 PCI-E 16x slots for video cards. There appears to be one blue one and 2 black ones. I would assume the blue one is the 'main' one. Keep in mind, these parts haven't arrived to me yet but I wanted to geta heads up in case I ran into any problems.

Your motherboard manual will tell you which slot to use for a single card or dual cards. I would build the system with one card, get it running smoothly and then add in the second card. Probably save you some headaches.
