Power Supply Recomendation

Am building a media PC (No Gaming) using an ASUS P5K-VM LGA 775 Mico ATX mo/bo in a Silverstone SST -LC-17 Media Case. According to ASUS this board requires a hefty P/S, specs are; 28-32A- 3.3V
30-40A- 5.0V
18-20A- 12.0V

Need a PS recommendation for good quality and fit.

Interesting that a motherboard includes PSU recommendations. Anyway, those are normal looking for pretty much any new PSU these days.

What are the rest of the components?

The video card is the major power draw these days. But since you're not gaming, you won't need too strong of a card.

Looks like the case will take a standard ATX PSU. A quailty PSU would be a Corsair 520HX if using a fairly powerfull video card, the Corsair 450VX would work for on-board video or a lower end VC.

If you are only using intergated graphics or something like an 8400 or 2400 this Antec 430w will do fine.

*EDIT* I take too long to write responses.

Thanks to all for your input. I prefer a strong supply so the 500 W Corsair looks good. Also heard some good things about the FSP (Fortran Scource) Blue Storm 500W, Has anyone used one of these?

The remainder of the PC is fairly bland;
C-2-D E6550 Conroe 2.33 GHz
Seagate Barracuda 500 Gig

Will probably use the MO/BO integrated graphics until I see the quality and if required a silent ASUS card. I have an EAX1600Pro that I can use for this. The Audio is tapped from the co-ax S/PDIF port to my system.

An ASUS Burner and 4 Gig of Corsair XMS2 memory to complete the project. (And ;Oh yes; a stupid fax modem since here in the sticks we are still stuck with dial up!!!!!)http://forum.pcmech.com/images/icons/pissed.gif

Thanks again guys;

I've used the FSP Blue Storm in several builds and have no complaints. The Corsair (Seasonic) is a very good and highly recommended power supply brand but FSP is a good alternative if you want to save a few bucks. All my own computers use FSP (Fortron Source or Sparkle Power) power supplies in them. The only other brands I would consider for use is Corsair, PC Power & Cooling and Seasonic. I don't care for Antec power supplies.

Hey Cricket; thanks for the confirmation. I believe I will go with the Blue Storm 500 as it's specs closely match ASUS' recomendations for the P5K.
