Blank Screen after Graphics Driver Install

After installing a Radeon X1650 Pro PCI Express card in my ASUS P5 BE (Core 2 CPU) motherboard, I fired up the ATI X1650 Pro CD and choose "install drivers". It did its thing (including install of .net 2 for some reason) and then politely asked for a reboot. When I agreed the PC rode off into shut down and reboot and then... a blank screen! I've rebooted several times but I still get nothing to look at after the initial windows loading screen appears.

Any good advice welcome as to what to do next? I've súbmitted a ticket to ATI and thought about reinstalling windows XP home SP2 - but I wonder if there is a better way to go??

Any help appreciated...

Lightbulb This might be the problem

I had the same problem with a Radeon card a while back. It happened because when Windows adjusted to the resolution that it had been left at, the card could not display that resolution.

What I did was go into my mobo's BIOS and select the default video as the onboard, then turned off the PC, took out the Radeon card, plugged the monitor into the onboard, and it worked fine. Then I reinstalled the driver, this time using a resolution that was friendly to the card. When I booted up with the Radeon card installed, everything worked fine.

But if you don't have onboard video... uhm, then I don't know. I would suggest trying a different monitor if you have one handy before reinstalling Windows.

Try loading into safe mode and uninstall the video card drivers.
