Online parts

Hi, I'm new here and I'm going to build my first computer. I have been reading these forums for about a week and one of my questions regards online suppliers.
I know newegg seems to be a reliable place to get parts .
Has anyone bought from Tigerdirect ?? they seem to have a large selection of parts.
How reputable is tigerderect??? any problems with them ??
Any other places I should look ??
Thanks, this is the first of what will probably be many questions.

Welcome to PCMech.

We always recommend Newegg over Tiger. Tiger has very poor customer service. And they push a lot of low quality products.

You can always check retailers here: www.resellerratings.com

Thanks for the reply, and the link.
I saw a ratings site that gave Tiger a 1 of 5 rating so that made me somewhat skeptical.
I'll check out some other venders

ZipZoomFly.com
mWave.com
eWiz.com
Geeks.com

and one some folks don't like, but I shop at occasionally over 3 years or so:

buy.com

Don't forget special deals that can be found at

BestBuy.com (and, often, store pickup) and other similar places.

Thanks, I know about bestbuy, sometimes you can catch a sale and get a pretty good deal.
Thier selection is not the greatest, but if you catch them at the right time you can make out pretty good. ( I like the order online and pickup in store feature).
