I think I did it (Fried my Mobo)
At a quickness I tried switching motherboards in 2 computer last night.
After getting a huge blasting headache (Due to the large amounts of dust from the old PCs) I finally got both mobo's out of the computers. Discovering that the cases were to big to fit both of them I was forced to put them back. I connected everything back to it's original way. Last but not least the input for the monitor. Boom no signal at all. I took out some RAM, made sure my Hard Drive booted (it did because it was spinning) I disconnected and reconnected the power supply. Finally I checked to see if I could get a light from "caps lock" "num lock" etc on the keyboard. Not a light came on. I came to explain the issue. If my guess it correct then I'm sure I fried the motherboard, and to think I fried BOTH! Because the other computer does the same only that power supply gives off fumes. So I disconnected that all together not even worrying if I fired the mobo or not. If someone can agree with me then that would be great. If that wouldn't seem to be the problem then does anyone else have any other suggestions? Thanks! |
