First build ever need some help?

Ok im really confused as im not much into this stuff but recently my brother has got back from iraq and he wants us to build a computer.

to play the following with no lag : Warcraft,Counterstrike,Bioshock, and Planetside.

Ill spend $700-1000 is what i want to spend as i play only maybe 2 or 3 days out of the week due to work. So any recommendations?

Thanks in advance,
McDoogan.

Welcome to PCMech!

For your price range, do you need a monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc?

just throwing it out there i have the GIGABYTE GA-P35C-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard ....

great for games (I play Counter-Strike) ... n it supports both DDR2 and the newer (more expensive) DDR3 memory so you've got room to improve as far as the memory is concerned once the price of DDR3 memory starts to come down some
