New Builder, Just need confirmation

Ive never done anything this complete b4. Usually just upgrading a part or 2. I've got an idea of what I want, i would just like some feedback on if the parts will work together and maybe some suggestions. As far as budget is concerned im reaching my limit. Id like to keep it close to the 600$+ im already spending if possible.
also all the items are what ive found on Tigerdirect.com
Oh and this is going to be primarily for gaming.

Case - NZXT Apollo Black ATX Mid-Tower Case with Clear Side
Has 2 120mm fans included, but no power supply
Power Supply - Ultra X2 750-Watt
I believe this too has a 120mm fan with it
Graphics card - KFA2 GeForce 8800 GT Overclocked Video Card
Fits PCI express 2.0, 512MB,
****it says its memory type is DDR3. Does this have anything to do with my RAM? i.e. does it need to match?****

Motherboard/CPU combo - Asus M3A Motherboard CPU Bundle - AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ Processor 2.0GHz OEM
Matches the ATX format, 240 pin RAM, supports 800MHz memory, has audio chipset, has the PCI express 2.0 slot for GFX card, does NOT have CPU fan.
CPU fan - Thermaltake / Ruby Orb / Socket 775/754/939/940/AM2 / Aluminum Core/Fins / CPU Cooler
matches the AM2 socket type
RAM - Corsair Dual Channel TWINX 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz E.P.P. Memory (2 x 1024)
matches the 240 pin connection, matches the 800MHz dual channel DDR2.
Hard Drive - Seagate PATA/100 160 GB. I already own this piece. Bought at Best Buy

As far as a CD drive. I already have one, but im not sure what kind it is. I dont use it. If at all possible id rather not have to buy one of those as well. Ive been just transferring data from my laptop to my PC. The laptop has a better CD/DVD drive. I also have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers.

Ive tried to think of everything, but ive probly missed something. If there is any lacking information or parts let me know. I thank you for any help available.

Look at a different Power supply, Ultra's don't have a great reputation. http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195
Look at maybe the corsair 550.

I don't think the thermaltake ruby orb is that great. Look at maybe this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118223
I think that will fit your socket.

Not sure about the motherboard and cpu combo. I'll leave that to others.

I would look at getting that video card, but look for evga brand.

I agree...don't get a Ultra power supply, they're not all that great (the name is deceiving). You could also look at the Antec Earthwatts, Fortron Source, PC Power & Cooling, Sparkle Power, Seasonic, Silverstone or Zippy.

Thermaltake Orbs are rubbish. Look at Thermalright, Scythe and Arctic Cooling as well.

That CPU is an old one...leftover old stock? The performance won't be up to today's standards.

And please don't buy your parts from TigerDirect, they're the worst. Look at Newegg instead.

Stay away from tigerdirect, they have poor customer service, and most of their stuff is reboxed returns.. Your better off using newegg.com they have a high customer service rating, and are easy to work with..

Ok ive revised my selection. Ive decided to use newegg for the graphics card, motherboard, processor, and cpu fan. I think im still gonna use tigerdirect for the case and power supply.

Graphics Card - New Egg GeForce 8800GT

Motherboard - New Egg ASUS M3A

Processor - New Egg AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000

CPU Fan - New Egg ZALMAN 9500A The one suggested above. Just realized that the new CPU i picked out comes with heatsink+fan.

Case - TigerDirect NZXT Apollo Black

PSU - TigerDirect OCZ / GameXStream / 700-Watt

This is probly more than i should spend, but w/e. If there is something wrong with these selections let me know, but im not going for super top of the line ultra computer. I do want the most for my money though. thanks for the help

I have been checking over the products again when i came across the PSU vs Graphics card requirement. The graphics card requires 400 W or 450 for SLI support of 12V of 24 amps. The power supply lists +12 V at 18 amps twice does this mean that it meets the requirement at 36 amps?

Yes You can get that psu at newegg for the same price after rebate. tigerdirect has poos customer service, even if you buy the psu from them. You also can get the case from them as well fro the same price.

If you want to lower the price a bit more, look at a HD3870 video card instead.

Also, you didn't list the ram in your second list.

Make sure you have an OS too.

Sorry the RAM is Corsair Dual Channel TWINX 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz E.P.P. Memory (2 x 1024)

And i still have my Hard Drive. The OS is on the hard drive if im not completely wrong.

I must have missed the PSU and case at newegg. I'll look again after class.

Since the RAM listed above is from tiger im going to assume somebody will tell me its on newegg. which is fine, but could you link me to it? That RAM seemed to have a good deal going at tiger. Basically just looking for 2 GB of dual channel RAM and 35 $ looked like a good deal.

I appreciate all the advise. Im going to take your word on the Tiger vs NE, cause ive used tiger only a few times, but never had a problem.

Well. If you 3 dont already work for Newegg you should think about it. lol. Anyways, now that i have all the items listed from Newegg I just need to make sure they will work together. Im still unsure about the PSU listing 12V @ 18A twice as meeting the Video cards 12V @ 30A requirement. And the list so far:

Case - NZXT Apollo BLUE Thanks to Newegg I can get blue

Motherboard - ASUS M3A

Processor - AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+

Graphics Card - EVGA GeForce 8800GT

PSU - OCZ GameXStream

RAM - CORSAIR XMS2 2GB

I guess its because its my first time building a computer combined with the large amount of money im spending (im in college), but i really need to confirm that the different components will work with each other.

The power supply requirement you see listed with the video card is a total rating for amps on the 12V rails. Most power supplies have multiple 12V rails. You simply add them together to get the total that your video card refers to. So 2x18=36A, plenty of power.

Your list looks good.
