I am about to lose it

I had a previous thread about my new build. When I turned it on, everything came on (fans, HDD, DVD) but nothing happened. Screen was blank and I got no beeps. So I RMA'd the motherboard. I got a new one and have the exact same problem. I found someone else on the forums who had the same problem and someone advised taking everything out of the case because the case could be shorting it, so I did this but still get the same problem (the thread ended with this suggestion). I have swapped out the CPU with one that I know works, same result. Any ideas on what could be going on?

Have you tried using the monitor on another computer to make sure it works?

yes and i know the current monitor works because i use it for a dual monitor. A monitor issue does not explain why there are no beeps.

Would look to the PSU that came with the case. Need to try a known, good PSU. PSUs that come bundled with cases are generally crap. (Antec combos are an exception)

So while doing the out of case build, you can't get it to post?

And while still out of the case you tried a new mother board, a new psu, and a new processor?

Only thing left then should be the ram.

If you can, try a dedicated video card. Thats more than likely not the issue, just throwing it out there.

yes i tried a different PSU and CPU. And this is the second MB. No matter what change I have made, still no post. I have not tried different RAM, but if RAM was the problem, wouldnt I get an error beep? I have tried it with no RAM, and still no beep. I have googled this problem and found many others with different senarios that have had it, but cant find any resolution. My MB is compatible with the PSU right? I am so frustrated I want to just buy a Dell and be done with it.

a thermaltake 430 that is on my primary computer. Since this new build is very similar to my current PC, I can swap parts to see if that solves the issue. I have, and it hasn't. Is it possible I got bad motherboards that were bad in the same way 2 times in a row?

Is this it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817153023

You do have both the 24 pin and 4 pin plugged in, correct?

Have you tried different ram?

I finally figured it out. I put into the new motherboard all the components from my other PC (which is all compatible). It booted up correctly. So I started putting in the new parts, one by one. The new CPU and RAM worked fine. All that was left was the power supply. But my new PSU is not bad, it was on the wrong setting in the back (the little red piece above where the cord plugs in tha can move left or right). It was on the 230 setting and apparently needed to be on 115 setting. What I dont get is that my other PSU works on the higher setting (different numbers b/c it is a 430W rather than a 350W). Can someone explain what these settings mean? I assume it has something to do with wattage.

The little red switch is for the voltage coming out of your house outlet. In Europe it is 230 and in the states it is 115. Using it on the wrong setting can permanently damage it.
