Those parts look good, If all you plan on doing game wise is COD4, then change nothing..

Good list. I would recommend upgrading to the new seagate 500 mb with 32 mb cache for like $30 more. If you are using this to game, I would suggest going with the newer G92 chip video card, the 8800 gts. Otherwise, what you have is a fantastic list.

Thanks for the input, I will be gaming with this but I can live with not having the highest settings. In reality the games I play are all old so it should handle them with great ease. I am also not a big fan of first person shooters so and from what i gather those are what people consider higher end graphics cards for.
I have read a lot of comparisons between the HD3870 512 and the 8800GT 512, most say the 8800GT is the clear winner but it costs a bit more. I have found that they cost the exact same. Is the 8800GT I have selected the one that people say supposedly costs more or are the reffering to one with the G92? If so i would almost prefer going to the HD3870 for the DX10.1 and build in Audio with the possibility of putting it in a media center PC some time in the future. I will probably go for the 7200.11 though, i was already borderline on splurging for it. Last edited by BJS; 01-26-2008 at 02:32 PM. |

I think you mean 500gb. And i have no idea what you mean. The 8800 GT and 8800 GTS "512MB" are both G92 chips. |
